Over the last half of 2015, Tony completed medical school applications while Ali enthusiastically began planning their dream wedding. Tony was accepted to multiple medical programs and together they decided that Ross University in Dominica would be the best fit for them. For this reason Ali and Tony eloped on December 7th 2015, the third anniversary of their first date. This was an effort to expedite the name changes required for starting the VISA process. They would love to have you help celebrate their marriage before their departure with a night of ceremony and friendship on July 30th, 2016.
Ali and Tony fell in love while attending Eastern Michigan University in 2012. They quickly grew an annual tradition of camping on the remote North Manitou Island in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. It was for this reason that Tony felt it important to propose within sight of the island. Upon his graduation from Eastern Michigan, Tony surprised Ali with a weekend trip to Northern Michigan. After a long drive around the Leelanau peninsula on historic M-22, they stopped and walked hand in hand out onto a long beach peninsula. Tony could tell Ali was expecting something, so he patiently waited until walking back to their car and allowed her to lead the way. As they traversed a small sand dune Tony called from behind Ali. She turned around to see Tony on one knee. As she looked down at him with North Manitou Island on the horizon, Tony proposed. After a period of hysterical excitement, she said yes! From that point forward, life began moving fast, and spending the next two years in Dominica is only the beginning of their journey together as husband and wife!
